Value Proposition In Copywriting
This is part of a series called “Copywriting For Your First Product.”
There are five aspects to evaluate your value proposition statement:
Different: It means you provide something your competitors can’t or don’t provide. This is to ensure your audience understands why they need to pay attention to you (because something is missing in the current market). A great example is the case of leveljump shared by April Dunford (author of Obviously Awesome). They focused on their key differentiated value and got acquired by salesforce.
Desirable: It means you offer something your customers care about.
Memorable: Something that sticks to your audience’s mind once they read it.
Succinct: Expressed as simply and shortly as possible.
Specific: Just what your product does. Not vague like a mission statement.
Bad example: “We believe in creating a better future for farming. Get started for free.”
Good example: “Give her an advantage. The world’s first programmable friendship bracelet. Get your kid coding today.” (Jewelbots)
