Difference Between Landing Page & Home Page

For each page, you should answer the following:

  1. How Visitors Got There

  2. Who Are These Visitors

  3. Why Are They There

Home Page: They Googled your company or have questions. They have broader intents. They probably don’t know you. More room for where people can go. Capture their attention since they usually don’t have a specific task in mind.

Landing Page: They clicked an ad, a CTA, or a social media status update. There is more specificity to it than a general search of a keyword. They probably don’t know you either. It should have minimum/no navigation, minimum header, and minimum footer. The content should be very centered, with no visual distractions on the sides. There should be only one CTA. An example is signing up for a mini-course.
